Description

Are you PaddleSmart?

Did you know there's been 43 drownings this year already in BC?

British Columbia has over 1,600 search-and-rescue incidents each year, which is more than the rest of Canada combined annually. The BC Search and Rescue Assocation has 80 SAR groups consisting of 2,500 volunteers who respond to those calls, keeping them very busy.

BC AdventureSmart (also a national program) increases awareness to help reduce the number and severity of those incidents through public education, online SAR prevention resources, face to face training, social media and through provincial partnerships and ambassadors.

We're looking forward to our collaboration with the North Vancouver Public Library at the Parkgate Branch location helping the very active community in the Lower Mainland who increasingly recreate on the ocean in Deep Cove, coastal waters, local rivers and throughout the Sea to Sky corridor.

Join us and learn more about the importance of preparation in relation to;

Let's all help the local SAR groups in the region; North Shore Rescue, Lions Bay SAR, Squamish SAR, Coquitlam, Whistler SAR, Pemberton SAR, Sunshine Coast SAR and Surrey SAR.

To learn more visit BCSARA's website and support our response and prevention efforts.
