Pain and Cannabis : An Informative Session
Event Information
Description
Do you have questions about how cannabis can help benefit you by alleviating your pain ?
Please join us at FARM’s Cannabis Education Centre and speaker Andrew Gill who will be discussing cannabis use and how it can treat your arthritic and back pain.
Cannabis is becoming the treatment of choice for many chronic and acute pain patients. Pain detecting nerves are filled with cannabinoid receptors and according to researchers, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and other cannabinoids control the firing of pain signals from our joints to the brain, ultimately improving pain on movement, pain at rest, and quality of sleep. Growing bodies of successful preclinical and clinical trials are showing the benefits of cannabidiol (CBD) and its anti-inflammatory properties.
Studies have found cannabis to possess positive effects on the following medicinal issues commonly impacting those with pain.
-Chronic pain
-Inflammation
-Muscle tension
-Stiffness
-Scoliosis
-Sciatica
-Rheumatoid arthritis
-Osteoarthritis
-Psoriatic arthritis
-Persistent joint pain
-Locked joints
-Morning stiffness
-Muscle inflammation
