Our focus to deliver a high quality, evidence-informed event to improve pain management strategies remains our primary objective.

About this event

Our 15th Annual Pain Society of Alberta Conference will be held from Friday October 15th to Sunday October 17th, using a virtual delivery model. This event will include health care providers locally, nationally and internationally who share a common goal and interest in advocating to improve the well-being of patients living with persistent pain. 

Conference content will be carefully chosen to incorporate well-balanced, informative and relevant presentations, from well known and experienced speakers, on a wide variety of pain related topics.  Physicians and clinicians alike will be empowered with up-to-date tools and improved management strategies to implement changes and improve their clinical practice.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Is there a fee to attend? Who should attend?

There is a fee to attend with five options:

A. Physicians and Physician Specialists - $99: if you are employed and living with or without chronic pain

B. All Allied Health Care Providers/Case Manager - $49: if you are employed and living with or without chronic pain.

C. Other Professionals - $49 if you are an employed professional but not working in a healthcare setting, living with or without chronic pain.

D. Full Time Medical Learner or Medical Resident - free: However, you MUST be enrolled in a full time program at a post secondary institution. Please provide proof of full time status to team@painab.ca.

E. Person with Lived Experience - free, however if you are a physician, healthcare provider or professional who is employed living with chronic pain, please select the appropriate ticket listed above.

This ticket provides limited access to conference events and is not intended for people with chronic pain who are gainfully employed healthcare providers or professionals.

2.  Do I need to formally register? What does my registration include?

Yes! You need to register please!

Your registration provides access to three days of evidence informed presentations delivered by multiple presenters, the ability to contribute questions to our moderated question period, and entry to our networking space. You will also receive regular updates to ensure you are well prepared for our event.

3. How will I stay informed about the conference? How do I get the link to access the conference?

All information related to the conference will be located on the Pain Society of Alberta website.  Routine updates will be emailed using the address you registered with to keep you informed of all the logistics and live stream links. Please ensure you have recorded your email address correctly and add us as a contact so communications go to your inbox.

If you would like to join the Pain Society of Alberta and receive communications from us, please visit our website and add your information here. Membership is free of charge and we keep emails to a minimum throughout the year.

4. Can we ask the presenters any questions?

Questions for our presenter can be emailed throughout our event to question@painab.ca. Reminders will be sent through the live stream chat box as well!

5. Will the conference presentations be available to me?

Yes!  As a registrant, you will be able to access presentations from willing presenters from the Pain Society of Alberta YouTube channel. Consider subscribing and you will get notified every time we post a new presentation!

6. Will a certificate of attendance be available?

Certificates of attendance can be accessed from our website after the conference concludes.  Please print and populate with your accurate attendance hours. 

We will be pursuing accreditation from the CFPC and RCPSC. Information to come.

7. Can I provide my feedback about the event?

Absolutely! We look forward to your evaluation that will help us improve and create the blue print for our next session. A direct link to our evaluation will be supplied during and post event.
