Enjoy an intensive Paint and Embroidery Workshop with Chilean Artist Katy Biele Based in Victoria. This is a special 2-session to cover mixed media embroidery techniques, learn how to use watercolour paints on both paper and fabric and learn to create various textures using different types of stitching methods in artistic ways. Katy has been practising unconventional and nontraditional methods of embroidery for many years now. She has develop creative and unique styles which are rich in colour, movement, and texture.

In the first session we will work on paper using different kinds of paint. You will learn ways of mixing them in an experimental way. Then you will be using the paint on fabric in order to expand your experimentation with different kinds of materials.

In the second session we will focus on learning various kinds of embroidery techniques. Katy will teach you ways of basic stitching and will lead you to learn more complex textures and techniques step by step.

This workshop is deeply inspired by the South American colourful culture. You will learn in a playful way how to combine painting and embroidery in your art-making process through Katy’s style.

Light snack and tea will be provided.
