About this event
Ros will demonstrate and take you through methods she uses in her fabulous wildlife paintings using acrylics on canvas. You will be shown how to create a rich textured background as an interesting base for your wildlife subject and will then be guided through the process of painting of your chosen subject on the canvas to create a stunning art piece.
What we provide
$130 per person includes:
- Guided step-by-step instruction and expert tuition from Louise will help you master this medium and subject matter.
- Use of all materials provided including canvas with a coloured undercoat, drawing materials, paints, easel, brushes, palettes, water containers, rags and apron.
- Delicious morning tea. (BYO lunch).
- The masterpiece you create is yours to take home!
What to bring
- Water bottle.
- Lunch.
- Bring your own reference photo if you like and an A4 black and white photocopy of the image (or use one that Ros will provide).
What to wear
- An apron is provided but wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on. Although acrylic paints are water based, some pigments can be difficult to remove.

- Adults - all levels - no experience is necessary.
Notes on Location
Historic Settlers Cottage is located at 180 Pearson Street, Churchlands, is owned by the National Trust and currently used as Art Studios. The setting is idyllic, nestled close to the Herdsman Lake, surrounded by trees and wildlife. The venue for our workshops is in the adjacent Shelter area (outdoor undercover with weather protection) and on the shady verandahs of the cottage. With Covid, this is the perfect way to enjoy art activities.
