About this event

Come to explore silverpoint and egg tempera and bring back to life old masters techniques. In this workshop you will learn do's and don'ts of silverpoint drawing, surface preparation, get instructions on where and how to get your materials and about different effects you can achieve by using different metals.

In a second part of the day, we will bring in some colour by exploring egg tempera, various pigments and beautiful transparent quality that is given by this technique.

No experience required, just an open mind and willingness to step into the meditative past.

$30.00 to be paid to the instructor on the day of the course. Please wear protective clothing (long sleeves), and bring a paper mask to have protection from some egg tempera pigments and gesso dust.

Milda has drawn, sculpted, and painted all her life. After completing a BA (Hons) in Fine Arts with a 1st class degree and commendation in UK, Milda has extensively painted and exhibited in UK (Pump house in Cheltenham, Guildhall Arts Center-Gloucester, Pump house, Mafuji, Arcola and Century and other galleries in London). She has taught workshops at Guildhall art center in Gloucester.

Milda has recently exhibited at Charlotte Glencross Gallery and has been awarded as top 50 Canadian artists award by marketeer competitions, Canada.

About the organizer

NBCCD has been an ambassador for craft and design since the 1930s. We’ve run evening and weekend courses for the public in addition to our diploma programs for decades. With the Honeybee Folk School, we have expanded our programming to include courses in sustainability and traditional skills, alongside popular courses in contemporary craft and design. Just like the honeybee works best in a hive, we see a community that can work together to design a creative and flourishing future for all.
