This workshop is intended for people living with Parkinson's, including family and friends.

Although healthcare professionals who work with Parkinson’s clients are welcome to attend too.

Tuesday, November 27

2:00pm - 3:15pm: Fraser Health Falls Prevention Team

3:15pm - 4:15m: UBC Origins of Balance Deficits & Falls

The workshop will include:

1. The 4 Pillars of Falls - Prevention Home Safety, Exercise, Vision + Medications (Fraser Health)

2. Tips and Tricks for Falls Prevention (Fraser Health)

3. Fear of Falling and Balance Research in Parkinson’s (UBC)

Parkinson's Falls Prevention Mobile Clinic:

Friday, November 30 from 9:00am – 3:30 pm.

Must pre-register by contacting IMPACT Parkinson’s at parkinsonswc@gmail.com.

Only 8 spots.

The Mobile Clinic offered by Fraser Health offers a multi-disciplinary approach to the prevention of falls and fall-related injuries. In this FREE 90 min assessment session, participants have the opportunity to sit with health professionals (pharmacist, kinesiologist and physiotherapist). Aspects of fall risk status will be assessed and interventions discussed. A detailed report of all the recommendations is provided to the participant and sent to the primary physician (s).
