Description

The Culinary Historians of Canada present a day trip from Toronto via motor coach to explore the history and uses of herbs—along with instructions on growing them at home—at Richter’s Herbs in Goodwood, Ontario. Then, after a delicious catered lunch, a visit to the magnificent and historic Parkwood Estate National Historic Site in Oshawa (built by the head of General Motors, Canada), with a special private tour of the fantastic kitchen, as well as a look at the earliest history of Canada Dry Ginger Ale.

Participants will meet at 8:45 a.m. sharp for a 9 a.m. departure at the TTC Warden parking lot at 701 Warden Ave., Scarborough, (free parking available). Other arrangements can be made for participants who live in the Oshawa area. Admission includes a talk at Richters, a delicious lunch, a tour of the ground floor of Parkwood and the chance to shop at the gift shops at both sites.
