The Raoul Wallenberg All-Party Parliamentary Caucus for Human Rights invites you to the screening of "The Cost of Discrimination", the story of discrimination in Iran and South Africa. The documentary film examines life under South African Apartheid and draws parallels with Iranian authorities’ continued persecution of the Bahá’í religious minority in Iran.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Arash Azizi - the film researcher and presenter, two Bahá’ís personally affected by the persecution, the Honourable Irwin Cotler - Chair of the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights and moderated by John Packer - Director of University of Ottawa's Human Rights Research and Education Centre.

Light Refreshments will be served. Doors open at 4:15.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All registrations must be completed by November 20, 2017. Only those with their full names registered on the list will be allowed to enter the room, a photo ID is required for entry & please allow 15 minutes to proceed through security.

This event is being hosted in partnership with: The Bahá'í Community of Canada, The Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights & University of Ottawa's Human Rights Research and Education Centre. This event is part of the broader Raoul Wallenberg Parliamentary Human Rights Film Screenings initiative.


Le Caucus parlementaire multipartite Raoul Wallenberg pour les droits de personne vous invite à la projection du film « The Cost of Discrimination » qui examinera la vie sous l'apartheid en Afrique du Sud et qui établit un parallèle avec la persécution actuelle de la minorité religieuse bahá'íe en Iran. Ce documentaire fait partie de l'initiative parlementaire Raoul Wallenberg traitant des films sur les droits de la personne.

La projection sera suivie d'une discussion avec Arash Azizi, chercheur et présentateur du film, deux bahá'ís personnellement touchés par la persécution, et modérée par John Packer, directeur du Centre de recherche et d’éducation sur les droits de la personne à l’Université d’Ottawa. La projection de ce documentaire est coparrainée par la communauté bahá’íe du Canada, le Centre de recherche et d'éducation sur les droits de la personne de l'Université d'Ottawa et le Centre Raoul Wallenberg pour les droits de la personne.
