We believe that when students, educators and community leaders come together and authentically
learn about empathy, teamwork, leadership and creative problem solving, they will realize their own
power to collectively catalyze change in classrooms, families and community….And together, we will
build a REGION OF CHANGEMAKERS in Simcoe County!
In Fall 2018, Ashoka Canada is partnering with Georgian College and the Simcoe County District
School Board to leverage an experiential social engagement framework. We call it
#CHANGETHENOW
#CHANGETHENOW is a regional changemaker challenge. It’s a series of events designed to
collectively cultivate ideas about how to help solve a wicked social problem that affect us all…
social isolation.
Educators from K-postsecondary and community leaders, please join us for a 2 part workshop series
to help us kick off the #CHANGETHENOW Changemaker Challenge.

Creating a global movement of change agents. #ChangeTheNow is experiential learning opportunity, under the direction of Social Innovation at Georgian College, and as part of the Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. #ChangeTheNow workshops, event and engagements support participants as they work in innovation teams to collaborate on tackling place-based approaches to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.
