About this Event
In collaboration with Alberta Labour & Bow Valley College, ICTC has completed research on Pathways to Employment in Tech sector for Albertans with Disabilities.
This project:
- Addresses the challenges that Alberta's technology sector employers face when it comes to creating & promoting accessible employment practices.
- Highlights current trends in relation to demographic statistics of Albertans with disabilities.
- Addresses the challenges that jobseekers with disabilities encounter when it comes to gaining access to meaningful employment activities in the technology sector.
ICTC has created an Employer Toolkit for ICT employers in Alberta. The toolkit is divided into five core sections:
- Recruiting
- Interviewing
- Onboarding
- Workplace Communication

The Employer Toolkit contains materials, resources, and information, within each of those five sections to help workplaces foster inclusive practices.
In this workshop, we'll be exploring ICTC's research findings and learning about the Employer Toolkit - including how it works & how organizations can leverage it for optimal results. This workshop will host various activities designed specifically for Alberta's tech employers, helping to foster better connections and opportunities with job seekers with disabilities.
