About Tiffany Ford

Born and raised in the Jane-Finch community, Tiffany Ford has an authentic perspective of what it means to be labeled an “at-risk” youth while striving beyond the stereotypes and stigma that marginalized people are faced with in Toronto’s Jane-Finch community.

Tiffany graduated from York University, where she received double honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Sociology. In 2017, Tiffany was accepted into an Executive MBA program, and scheduled to complete her studies in 2019.

In the 2014 Toronto Municipal elections, Tiffany Ford was elected to the Toronto District School Board as trustee. Contesting with 7 other candidates, Tiffany won with a landslide victory with close to 40% of the votes cast in her favour. Tiffany contributed her win with an increasing number of first-time voters.

During her short tenure as a TDSB Trustee, Tiffany has introduced numerous motions including:

  • Recognizing Latin America History Month,

  • Recognizing Body Confidence Awareness Week

  • World Sickle Cell Day

  • Islamic Heritage Month

  • Somali Heritage Month

  • Creation of the Black Student Achievement Advisory Committee

  • Development of a Student Health Support Policy

Tiffany’s focus on improving school facility conditions resulted in a 186% increase in capital improvement investments from $14 Million during the years of 2010-2013, prior to when Tiffany was elected, to $40 Million between 2014-2017. Tiffany’s most important accomplishment was the creation of the first student advisory council in her ward, which focuses on student empowerment and student’s voice.
