Friday, March 2 What is knowledge translation and how do you practice it in the real world settings? (HS610 1-2:30PM)

Knowledge translation (KT) is a bridge between research evidence and real-world practice in an effort to strengthen health systems and improve health outcomes. But how do you apply research evidence given all the complexities of the real-world? At the KT Program at St. Michael’s Hospital, we believe that we can implement change in the health system by thinking about change differently. Our approach to KT is rooted in theory and science, but our application of KT is uniquely pragmatic and focused on real-world impact. Our training initiatives focus on empowering individuals and organizations in the health system with knowledge and support to do KT.

Speaker: Shusmita Rashid is an Implementation Specialist in the Knowledge Translation (KT) Program at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute, St. Michael’s Hospital where she develops, implements and evaluates evidence and theory-basedprograms.

Capacity: 54
