About this event
At Forte, we know you want to celebrate the holiday season, as always, with great choral singing from one of Canada’s leading gay men’s choirs, and we won’t disappoint!
Problem is, how do we all celebrate together when there is so much going on in the world that we really need to acknowledge? Strife has become so acute this year, including the sovereign nation of Ukraine, fighting the Russian invasion.
At Forte, we never “just” do a holiday concert". This year we have chosen our theme as “Peace on Earth” and, as well as some classics and favourites from the Forte holiday repertoire, we’re going to feature songs of peace from around the world and a beautiful set of Ukrainian pieces. You’re going to recognize some of them – and we know you will be moved by them all.
And there’s more! Forte will be performing with a brass ensemble drawn from members of The Hannaford Street Silver Band (whose members are drawn from the Canadian Opera Company and National Ballet of Canada orchestras).
Peace On Earth will be a holiday extravaganza that you will not want to miss.
