Our theme this year, is Pearls, Perils and Pitfalls in Geriatric Practice. We will cover a wide range of topics of interest to physicians, nurses and allied health practitioners who look after older patients.
Topics will include: Primary care of patients with chronic kidney disease; new developments in the treatment of diabetes; management of Parkinson's disease: and a review of when to start and stop thromboprophylaxis. Other topics will be end-of life prognostication in dementia; congestive heart failure; and the top 10 drugs to avoid in the elderly.
