FAQs

What should I know about the $11 ticket price?

The ticket price includes a $1 donation to PechaKucha Global and $1.27 of it goes to the Eventbrite service charge but it also automatically gets you a membership in PechaKucha Night Calgary Society.

What is the PechaKucha Night Calgary Society?

We're an Alberta registered not-for-profit made up of a volunteer committee. We hold the local license for the PechaKucha speaker series as devised and designed by Klein-Dytham Architecture in Tokyo, Japan (PechaKucha Global). Learn more.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

This is an all ages event but if you plan to consume or purchase alcohol you will need to be 18+ and show a photo ID, so bring one.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The Globe Cinema is located in downtown Calgary at 617 8th Ave. SW. This makes it one block from the 6th Street LRT station, there is free street parking after 6 PM (good timing for doors at 6:30) and the Centennial Parkade is on the same block as the theatre and is only $2 on weekdays after 4PM. Carpooling with friends will make parking even easier. PLUS, the Globe is right on the 8th Ave. bike lanes. Who knew, eh?

What can I bring into the event?

Friends.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Send us an email here: http://www.pechakucha.org/cities/calgary/contact/new

What's the refund policy?

The ticket is $11. If you need a refund in advance of the event we'll try our hardest to get you one. But keep in mind that PechaKucha usually sells out, so, most guests who suddenly realize they won't be able to make it to the show decide to pay it forward; they ask us to give their ticket to someone who showed up hoping they would get lucky with an extra ticket.

Do I need to print my ticket?

You can, but the Eventbrite app is pretty slick and we can scan the QR code right from your phone or even look you up by name. So, save some paper and keep your ticket digital if you can.
