Pedagogical Documentation: Beyond the Photos on the Wall

Pedagogical Documentation (Pedagogical Narration, as referred to in BC Early Learning Framework) is an essential part of our work with children. There are many forms of documentation, and they serve many purposes.

In this three-part workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn about Pedagogical Documentation in detail and through many lived stories from Frog Hollow's Children Centres – toddlers, preschoolers and School Age children.

Participants have the choice of attending only one of the workshops, or all three for a discounted price.

WORKSHOP I: Observation and the Process of Pedagogical Documentation

Date: Wednesday, October 23, 2019

Time: 6:30 pm–8:30 pm

• pedagogical documentation as process and tool
• the purpose of pedagogical documentation
• different kinds of pedagogical documentation

WORKSHOP II: Curriculum Design Meetings and Collective Interpretations

Date: Wednesday, October 30, 2019

Time: 6:30 pm–8:30 pm

In this workshop we will explore:

• What is the role of Curriculum Design Meetings?
• What do we interpret and why?
