Description

The Brantford Writers' Circle and the Brantford Public Library are bringing together some of Brantford's most successful authors and aspiring writers for a day of fellowship and development. Join us for workshops on writing, methods for improving technique, and taking steps to get your work published!

Will there be onsite registration?

Onsite registration will be available only if space permits. We recommend registering early to avoid disappointment.

Do I have to be a member of either the Brantford Writers’ Circle or the Brantford Public Library to attend?

While we encourage membership at both, non-members are welcome.

I’m a published author. How do I reserve a table in the Author’s Expo?

Congratulations! It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to publish your work, and we look forward to working with you. Please contact Robin Harding at rharding@brantford.library.on.ca or 519-756-2220 ext. 356 for more information on taking part in the Expo. Your inquiry may be redirected to a representative from the BWC as appropriate.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the Symposium?

Limited street parking is available in the immediate area around the Brantford Public Library. Alternatively, a municipal parkade is located directly behind the Main Branch at 59 Icomm Drive, Brantford, Ontario, N3S 7N9. There is no fee to park in this structure on weekends.

The BWC has reserved a room at the Sherwood Restaurant, located at 799 Colborne Street in Brantford, Ontario, N3S 3S3 for the Author’s Banquet. Free parking is available at the side and back.

What are the dining options at the Author’s Banquet?

Table service will include Mixed Greens Salad with Italian Dressing, Dinner Rolls and Butter, and a Pickle Tray.

The Sherwood Restaurant's buffet service features Roast Top Sirloin of Beef (carved to each person), Au Jus, Slightly Breaded Chicken Breast, Garlic Roasted Potatoes, Glazed Baby Carrots, and Green Beans Almandine.

The dessert buffet offers Lemon Pie, Assorted Cheesecakes, Hot Apple Crumble, and Fresh Fruit.

Beverage options will include Coffee, Tea, and a Cash Bar.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter these events?

No, however please be advised that workshops are intended for adults (ages 16+) and attendees are responsible for their own transportation to both the Symposium and the Banquet. Alcohol may be consumed with dinner and the BWC reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who is intoxicated, disruptive, or unable to provide proof of legal drinking age.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable? Can I update any changes to my registration information?
