Connection Dance Works - Perspective| Apr. 21, 2017 | Open Space Theatre
Connection Dance Works was founded in 2010 by Marcia Dysart, Sarah Power and Joanna Bryson. Their efforts and initiatives have engaged a growing audience in an active discussion about contemporary dance. Their multi-disciplinary collaborations — with musicians, choreographers, writers, composers, visual artists, and multi-media creators — affirm a new era of cross-pollination and a profound commitment to the notion of community.
This is bold stuff, and there's no question of the originality of what CDW is up to. The company developed a site-specific performance inspired by the life of ship captain Molly Kool that was originally presented in various galleries at the New Brunswick Museum. The semi-annual Perspective shows are a continuing series of collaborative explorations that have recently involved artists from Toronto, Montreal, and Halifax.
CDW is emblematic of the spirit and creative lifeblood of the region’s arts community. Their work is an open invitation to all who care to explore new expressions of connection, collaboration, and creation.
