Description

This course is designed for children ages eleven to fifteen years and is similar to a babysitting course, but is focused on caring for friend’s and family’s pets.

Help your child build valuable skills for a lifetime. As a trained pet sitter, certified by the Edmonton Humane Society your child will learn:

  • Daily care considerations for domestic companion animals such as dogs and cats, including feeding, exercise, enrichment, grooming, and special needs
  • How to understand what an animal is trying to communicate through its body language and behaviour
  • What to do in an emergency situation
  • Their responsibilities as a pet caretaker

Events occurring on weekends (Saturday or Sunday), programming will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drop-off will begin at 9:45 a.m. and pick-up will be at 5 p.m.

For events occurring on weekdays, programming will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with early drop-off available between 8 and 9 a.m., and pick-up between 4 and 5 p.m.

Additional Info

Minimum of 6 participants and a max of 12 participants for this course.

Cancellations made within 48 hours or less are non-refundable.

Please pack a lunch for your child, a lunch break will be provided.

All Participants are required to complete a waiver at least 24 hours in advance of the event.
