Philpott Church Worship Service
Event Information
Event description
We are excited to be able to worship together in person!
About this event
Here are a few things you need to know about this (partial) re-opening:
- We will be meeting at 10:00am on Sunday morning (but plan to arrive by 9:45am).
- Doors open at 9:30.
- We will be live-streaming this service, so whether you attend in-person or online, we will all be worshipping together.
- Please register and if that fills up sign up on the waiting list. We will offer multiple service times as soon as we need to.
- The service will be fairly short (just under an hour).
- Information for Parents/grandparents of children age 0 - grade 6: Sign up each by age group on Eventbrite. You only need 1 ticket per person. On arrival at the church, families will do Covid screening sign-in. The Nursery/Hive will be available for 0-3 years old, and can be dropped off upon arrival to the church. JK- Grade 6 will be dismissed before the sermon.
- Please socialize outside the building socially distanced.
- Seating will be limited to allow for a minimum of six feet between people. People who live in the same household are free to sit closer than six feet. You will receive guidance about where to sit.
- There will be no handshaking, hugging, or other physical contact.
- There will be singing.
- Masks will be required. You can bring your own cloth mask from home, but paper masks will also be provided at the door. Currently available guidance for churches indicates that singing without a mask can easily spread the virus through the air. Because singing is one of the things we do to worship God together, we will be requiring that congregants wear masks during the service.
- Entering the building and finding a seat will be a bit of a process; you are encouraged to arrive early, as there may be a line to get in to the building.
- We will be collecting names and contact information at the door, in case we need to contact people after an outbreak (again, maintaining physical distancing will be very important to prevent this!)
- Important: do not come if you 1.are showing flu-like symptoms (cough, sore throat, fever, shortness of breath, no taste or smell, muscle aches, extreme tiredness). 2. Have had prolonged exposure to someone who tested positive to COVID-19 and was symptomatic. 3.Have been identified as a 'close contact' of someone who currently has Covid-19, If you are unsure, try using the Government of Ontario's symptom checker. https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/
Because seating is limited, you will need to register in advance for the service, so that we know how many people will be coming.
