Toward 2030: Is Canada on Track to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals for Children and Youth?

This session will examine the UNICEF Index of Child and Youth Well-being and Sustainability, which reveals the ground rich countries must cover to reach the child-focused Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. This Index updates the 2013 UNICEF Report Card. This presentation will explore how much progress Canada has made relative to its peers as well as the reasons why Canada’s child health and violence related indicators trail behind. Finally, the session addresses the key policy drivers that can accelerate progress and a new UNICEF Canada initiative to mobilize action.
