This Photographic Guild of Nova Scotia webinar is part of the Fred & Edie Greene Speaker Series.

The topic (summary) will include samples of Stephen's photography through nearly 40 years of using film and digital. He will talk about how he's constantly analyzing his work, and attempting to further refine his approach to composition through a combination of inspiration from a variety of sources and careful observation.

About Stephen Patterson:

Stephen has been pursuing photography and creative visual expression after acquiring his first camera back in 1983 He works with many different artists, of various disciplines and genres. Early inspirations include (Freeman Patterson, Minor White, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothco, Christopher Pratt, Lee Friedlander, William Eggleston, Lee Friedlander and others. Stephen spent a week with Ernst Haas at his master class at the Maine Photographic Workshops in1985, and by chance, met Jay Maisel, at the workshops on a different occasion while studying Carbon Pigment Printing. Presentations include the North American Nature Photographers Association conference in Corpus Christi Texas in 1997. He has had numerous print exhibitions including the Museum of Nature in Ottawa, Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, He has taught workshops, photoshop and lead tours. Travels have taken him to the Galapagos, US Desert southwest, Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Prague and numerous locations throughout North America.
