Photography inside the Cathedral of Saint Joseph
Fri, 24 March 2017, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM EDT
The Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Hartford, CT “features a superb four manual Austin pipe organ, exquisite stained glass windows crafted in Paris, and a ceramic tile mural behind the altar that is the largest of its kind in the world”. We also will be granted access to several other areas to explore and photograph. These are places where the public usually is not allowed.
I will be working with you as you wander and photograph, suggesting shot locations, camera angles, setup information, and lighting possibilities. I’ll also review your images as you shoot, offering feedback and suggestions.
For those who are interested, I’ll be assisting people needing help operating their cameras. This will be an opportunity for you to ask questions and to get answers about camera problems you may be experiencing.
If you own them, a wide-angle zoom lens and tripod (with a cable release) might come in handy. So might extra camera batteries and an extra camera card. And be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes – we’ll probably be climbing up and down a few staircases.
Please park in the parking lot behind the cathedral. Towards the right side of the lot will be a glass power door with a sign reading “Elevator Entrance”. We will be meeting by this entrance. Please arrive at least a few minutes early.
Should you need to contact me, my cell phone number is 860-712-7098.
The Cathedral of Saint Joseph is a beautiful and grand location for taking pictures. I think you’ll be amazed at all its photographic possibilities.
Please note: No refunds are allowed unless the event is cancelled. Also, switching from one event to another is not allowed. I need to know the exact number of attendees in an event to determine whether or not I can afford to run it. Thanks.
