PIABC 2016 Conference (October 21/22, 2016)

We are also offering a separate full day presentation on Friday, October 21, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, on the PEACE model of interviewing. Interviewing - Questioning and Interrogation for Professional Investigators
Rod Gehl - I-TASC Investigative Training and Systems Consulting Ltd.
Mr. Gehl will compare contemporary interview methods (REID, KINESIC, COGNITIVE, SCAN Pure Version Statement, and PEACE). He will then provide significant details about the PEACE method of interviewing as a primary investigative tool.

Drew McArthur - Acting Commissioner, Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of BC
Mr. McArthur will identify the high standards that sets professional investigators apart from others as it relates to privacy legislation in BC and Canada. He will also update our members on anticipated changes to privacy legislation in BC.
Security Licensing for Businesses & Workers - Legislation and Regulation Updates
Sandra Sajko - Executive Director of Security Services, Policing &Security Branch, Ministry of Justice
Ms. Sajko will address our conference attendees and provide updates on the changing industry environment and discuss regulatory issues. There will be time for questions and answers.
ICBC Fraud Investigations and Performance Standards for Investigators
Lisa Carter, Injury Stakeholder Advisor and Injury Technical & Program Support, ICBC
Ms. Carter will present an informative overview of injury fraud in BC as it relates to the automobile insurance industry. She will also provide insight into performance standards expectations for investigators acting on behalf of ICBC as well as discuss ICBC's continued collaboration with PIABC and Private Investigators in BC.
Video Evidence and the Courts
David McKay - Blackstone Forensics
Mr. McKay will update conference participants on the latest advancements in video evidence standard operation procedures. This includes acquisition, processing and presentation to to the investigator's client. The presentation will focus on recent court rulings on video evidence admissability, updated best practices for extracting and preserving vidoe evidence from recording devices.
Cyber Crime Investigation Case Study
Dave Jones - JSI Security and Investigations Inc.
Dale Jackaman - Amuleta Computer Security & Investigations
Mr. Jones and Jackaman will discuss a recent cybercrime investigation that spanned national boundaries. The complexities of cross-jurisdictional investigations will be emphasized along with the need for multi-faceted specialized resources.

What is the refund policy?
No refunds will be issued after September 30th, 2016. A $15.00 service fee levied for all refunds.
How do I use the two different promotional codes?
Eventbrite will not allow the use of two different codes at the same time. Enter the appropriate promotional code in the field provided once you select your tickets and before you pay for them. If you are using a promotional codes for both the PEACE Interviewing course and the Conference, then you will need to first purchase the Conference registrations. After paying for those registrations, go back and purchase the course registrations.
How do I qualify to use the discount promotional code?
You must be a member of PIABC at the time of the Conference to use our promotional codes. Visit www.piabc.ca to join. Membership is only available to licensed professional private investigators and security consultants. Membership applications are now being accepted. You may register now using a promotional code as long as you become a member of PIABC on or before October 21st.
