Piano Paradiso in Toronto
Event Information
About this Event
Welcome!
We are happy to present a special piano concert, which will take place at the beautiful Heliconian Hall in Yorkville. As part of our North American Tour, this is our second stop, after a grand opening event in Montreal. We will also be going to New York and Ottawa.
Come join us in a loving, blissful, joyful, playful mood for a night of recreation and relaxation, in a Victorian church designed for beautiful acoustics.
Bader Soma will play his own compositions and Matt Tanguay will play classics.
Bader will be playing his album, As Above, So Below, in its entirety. It was inspired by his travels in India, among other things.
Testimonial:
“Bader's new album is full of devotion, curiosity and beauty. His always sensitive and peaceful style is well present; we can sing and meditate with it - and the melodies invite us to reflect and introspect. This is an album to play and play again.”
- Ana Lucia Lanatta, pianist and composer
Bader’s music is spiritual music for the soul. You can listen to four of the tracks for free on YouTube! A short documentary is also included.

===Bader Soma===
Bader has been playing the piano for seven years. His romantic relationship with the piano started in a school in Brazil. Bader’s reputable passion for the piano shows in how he plays. Bader is self-taught, and has never taken a piano course. The piano is the best way for him to express his emotions in the universal language of music. He is a visionary pianist who plays from the heart to the heart. Ever since he started playing, he has been composing his own music. His music is often contemplative, nostalgic, and whimsical, with sensitive colouring and expressive phrasing. Bader also loves to play music from Ludovico Einaudi and Yann Tiersen.
On October 30th 2016, Bader released his first studio album, “EntheoGenesis,” which was also the day he played his first concert in Montréal. Since then, Bader has played at several concerts, shows, and private events. He also embarked on a North America tour to promote his album, where he played in Toronto, New York, and Ottawa. On the 26th of October, Bader released his second album “As Above, So Below.” He then performed in Beirut and Sydney. Now, Bader is touring North America for the second time to promote his second album.

===Matt Tanguay===
Matt Tanguay has been passionate with music since he was 4 years old. He started singing songs of cereal and animals, then moved on to the harmonica, which his dad also played. At the age of 5, his parents got him a small keyboard and he started piano lessons at 6. He took lessons in Quebec city and went through the “11 university degrees”, which led him to yearly competitions and concerts, along with chamber music. He won several gold and silver medals and trophies. He also did 5 years of clarinet in high school, playing as first clarinet in the harmony. Later on, he played in a swing big band, and a couple of amateur jazz trios. He always kept playing since then, and you can often find him on the piano at Indigo in downtown Montreal
