Safe and Secure: 7 Steps on the Path to a Good Life for People with Disabilities is an inspirational guidebook for families and friends
About this event
Every family supporting a person with a disability is concerned about the future; "what will happen when we can no longer support our son and daughter?” Safe & Secure: Seven Steps on the Path to a Good Life for People with a Disability was written specifically for families struggling with this question.
PLAN Okanagan is once again offering the 2 day Safe & Secure Book Club on March 5th and March 19th, 2022, 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM. The workshop will lead participants through the book, offering a step by step guide to creating a plan for the future which provides for the safety, security and well being of people with disabilities.
Hosted by Lena Charlton, who has worked in the diverse-ability (disability) field for 13 years and is a PLAN Okanagan Board Member, Denise Martell is a Financial Professional and former PLAN Okanagan Board Member, and Mary Bickert is PLAN Okanagan's Community Coordinator. All three have loved ones who live with a diverse-ability.
We would like all those who are interested in this workshop to be able to attend. If you find the cost of the workshop prohibitive, please contact us at info@planokanagan.ca or 250-860-2080, as there are some scholarships available.
