About this event

Every family supporting a person with a disability is concerned about the future; "what will happen when we can no longer support our son and daughter?” Safe & Secure: Seven Steps on the Path to a Good Life for People with a Disability was written specifically for families struggling with this question.

PLAN Okanagan is once again offering the 2 day Safe & Secure Book Club on October 15th & 29th, 2022, 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM at The People Place in Vernon. Workshop will lead participants through the book, offering a step by step guide to creating a plan for the future which provides for the safety, security and well being of people with disabilities.

Hosted by Lena Charlton, a long time professional in the diverse-ability (disability) field , Denise Martell, a Financial Professional, and Mary Bickert, PLAN Okanagan's Community Coordinator. All three have loved ones who live with a diverse-ability.

We would like all those who are interested in this workshop to be able to attend. If you find the cost of the workshop prohibitive, please contact us at or 250-860-2080, as there are scholarships available.
