Event description

Description

This initiative supports the Toronto Seniors Strategy, Toronto Poverty Reduction Strategy, and TPL’s Strategic Plan. The goal of the program is to provide low-income attendees, in plain language, with a complete picture of benefits available to them, how these benefit programs interact, and best strategies for long term retirement planning with very limited means. The workshop is most important to those aged 55 – 64 years and those who provide financial advice to them.

Mainstream financial advice for middle and high income earners, is in most cases, inappropriate and detrimental to low-income earners. This workshop provides information not readily available elsewhere.

Workshop content and materials can be viewed online: www.openpolicyontario.ca Developed and delivered by John Stapleton, a former Ontario social policy expert and Metcalf Foundation Innovation Fellow, this work is strongly endorsed by leading Canadian financial experts.
