Event description

Description

Plastics seem to have infiltrated every aspect of our lives from packaging to food storage to skincare and clothes. Using them has negative consequences to our health, particularly if we use plastic to store and wrap food as many chemicals leach into it.

This workshop looks at the ways to eliminate plastic from our lives by suggesting alternatives to common products and demonstrating how to make safe, beeswax-infused food wraps

Date: Wednesday 4th July 2018, 6.30-8.30pm

Address: Pope St, Ryde Library

Who: This workshop is suitable for adults who live in the City of Ryde local government area. Participants must be City of Ryde Residents.

Equipment: Please bring your own note pad and pen to take notes. To reduce our environmental impact, please bring your own cup to enjoy morning tea.

Clothing and Footwear: Please ensure you wear enclosed flat shoes (no sandals, thongs or high heels please) and long trousers covering your legs to your ankles. Bring or apply sunscreen & hat for your own skin protection.

Cost: FREE. This is provided as no cost by the City of Ryde.

Booking: Advanced bookings essential. Book early as places are strictly limited and we anticipate this session will reach full capacity.

This is a Waste Education program brought to you by the City of Ryde.
