Malting Tower, Tett Centre for Creativity & Learning

370 King Street W, Kingston ON

For the next session in our professional development series PLATFORM, we are turning our attention to audience development. The three-hour workshop will cover audience development issues and opportunities, what qualifies as meaningful engagement and ways to identify barriers to participation. Toronto-based community animator Nadine Villasin Feldman will deliver a dynamic workshop with plenty of hands-on components.

We invite organizations and individual artists that are interested in deepening their understanding of audience development and engagement to join us! Registration is required.

About Nadine Villasin Feldman

Nadine Villasin Feldman is a Toronto-based arts manager and producer, with over 15 years of experience in community arts engagement and audience building. Through her past work as the Artistic Director of Carlos Bulosan Theatre and co-founder of the youth-led Kapisanan Philippine Centre for Arts & Culture, Nadine built a platform for Filipino culture and art, nurturing a vibrant community of Filipino-Canadian artists and audiences. As the Community Animator for internationally acclaimed contemporary dance company Kaeja d’Dance, Nadine developed audience engagement strategies and helped produce large-scale community engagement projects that expanded Kaeja’s community outreach capacity and developed new audiences outside of the downtown Toronto core. Nadine was also a participant in the Metcalf Foundation’s 3-year long “Engaging Audiences And Building Communities” Learning Cohort. In her current role as Program Director at VIBE Arts, she continues her work with diverse communities across the Greater Toronto Area, building community relationships through multi-arts programming and artist mentorship opportunities. Nadine is a Dora Award-nominated performer and published playwright.
