Pollinator Workshop
Date and time
Join EYA’s native bee educator, Marika Ai-Li, for a hands-on afternoon learning about the diversity of native pollinators found in BC.
About this event
On Saturday June 4th, Marika Ai-Li, EYA's very own native bee educator and director with the Native Bee Society of BC will be guiding us through the basics of native bee identification. First, play an engaging game to learn how to tell apart bees from their common copy cats. Then take part in a catch and release session to witness the beauty of bees and other pollinators up close!
All ages are welcome (1:1 adult supervision is required for children handling insect nets).
*Note: This event will take place rain or shine so we ask attendees to dress for the weather; if rain falls on the day of the event, tents will be installed and the catch & release activity will be replaced by another better-suited for the weather.
*Covid-19 policy: The Environmental Youth Alliance (EYA) follows the province of British Columbia’s Covid-19 restrictions closely. While at present there are no restrictions in place for outdoor events, we strongly encourage our attendees to wear masks and follow social distancing procedures.
