The Portobello Blues Festival is a three-day programme of concerts, workshops, a market, open mic sessions and the all-new Talent Quest. It will be held in the various Portobello and Bays venues and will take place for the second time in 2017. A Food Village will be set up at the Festival Village at the Portobello Coronation Hall.
Portobello and Bays will come alive with fantastic local and international musical talent from across the nation as well as internationally. Check out the line-up below and on the official website www.portobellobluesfestival.co.nz
11-21 year olds are invited to enter the Talent Quest with the winner playing on the main stage on Saturday night with the line-up.

Under 18s are not eligible to attend the above evening concerts. ID will be asked at the door.
Festival Pass entitles the bearer to attend any of the concerts and workshops free of charge and to catch the Blues Cruise transportation on Friday and Saturday night.
** Seniors = 65 years and over. Seniors and students must provide ID.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
For all evening concerts there is a minimum entry age of 18. During the day, it is open to all ages but an ID will be requested at the bar when purchasing alcohol. Organisers reserve the right of refusal.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Why not make an experience of it and get yourself to the Festival by bus? It will save the hassle of parking and that means that you can enjoy a glass of wine without having to worry about driving home. Otago Regional Council have a good daytime service from Dunedin to MacAndrew Bay and Portobello. Click here for the timetables:
A Blues Cruise is currently being organised for Festival Ticket holders and to bring Festival goers back into Dunedin after the evening concerts. A fee will apply for the Portobello/MacBay-Dunedin for non Festival Pass holders. More information about timing and route to come.
What can I bring into the event?
Your smile, happy vibes and friends and family. For safety and liquor licence restrictions Festival goers are not able to bring their own alcohol onto the Festival Village or other Festival venues. Organisers reserve the right to check bags at the entrance.

What's the refund policy?
You can ask for a refund up to 1 week before the event. Your ticket is transferable but ONLY if you inform the Organisers so an alternative registration can be created.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
No, please see 'what's the refund policy' above and the person must be 18 or over.
Can I volunteer to work on the Festival?
