Description

Health Challenge Pitch Event #1 will focus on cancer care!

The health and safety of the Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA), QEII Foundation, BioNova, ACOA and Volta community is a top priority for our teams, and as such, we have been closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. In an effort to reduce the spread of respiratory illness such as COVID-19, we are now rescheduling all events.

We will be in touch in the coming weeks to reschedule this event, and apologize for any inconvenience it may cause.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!

When: Wednesday, April 8, 2020 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm

Where: Volta, 1505 Barrington St., Unit 100 Halifax

Description:

Building on the exciting new partnership between Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA), QEII Foundation, BioNova, ACOA and Volta, the Health Challenge Pitch Event Series will showcase medtech companies with disruptive technologies and/or services that align with a major priority of the province’s health care system.

This series of pitch events (five in total!) will focus on priorities identified by NSHA; companies in the medtech space will be tasked with presenting their technologies as a means of solving these priorities. The goal is to provide market validation for these medtech startups and provide an opportunity for NSHA to consider adopting these new innovations.

The first Health Challenge Pitch event on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 will focus on cancer care.

Medtech companies are invited to apply, and those selected will present how their technology and/or service will solve the identified priority. The judging panel will be comprised of experts as identified by NSHA and other partners.

The winning company will receive $100,000 and their innovative technology will be considered for adoption by the NSHA.

Event Schedule:

5:30-6:00: Registration & Networking

6:00-8:00: Eight to 10 medtech companies pitch (10 min presentation + five minute Q&A)

8:00-8:30 Judge Deliberation + Winner Announced

Companies interested in applying to pitch will be encouraged to learn more about the Challenge, eligibility and application criteria at voltaeffect.com/health-challenge. Applications can be emailed to healthchallenge@voltaeffect.com

Applications close Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at 11:59pm for the April 8 Health Challenge Pitch Event, focusing on cancer care.
