Event description

Description

Is your child identified as gifted? Are you wondering if your child is gifted? Are your child’s educational needs being met?

Learn more by joining other parents from across BC for a full Saturday of networking and learning at the Powerup Potential Family Conference on Saturday, April 7th!

The Gifted Children’s Association and the Lower Mainland Gifted Contacts group of school district professionals is pleased to provide this opportunity for you to connect with other parents and participate in a wide variety of presentations from local experts headlined by Dr. James Webb.

Dr. Webb is widely recognized as a dynamic presenter who brings a life time of experience working in the field of gifted education to his presentations. He was instrumental in creating Supporting the Social and Emotional Needs of the Gifted, SENG, a non-profit organization founded in 1981. Since then he, and the organization, have advocated for better understanding of and appropriate learning opportunities for gifted individuals. He is equally acclaimed by health professionals, educators and parents for his knowledge and wisdom.

The program includes two keynote lectures with Dr. Webb, two breakout sessions with 12 more interesting speakers on different topics and a plenary session with a debate of gifted education in BC.

See the Speaker page for a full overview. A detailed program will be presented on the Power Up Potential website.

Please note that we cannot accommodate children in the sessions, nor are we able to provide childcare. Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated.
