Tackling today’s project focused environment requires a straightforward, down to earth approach. This two-day workshop provides practical, effective tools and proven processes that ensure your projects stay on track and your deliverables are achieved on time and on budget.

Topics Covered:

  • Defining projects, processes and other work
  • The project life cycle
  • Why projects fail
  • Benefits of following an established methodology
  • Creating deliverable statements and success criteria
  • Scope and assumptions
  • Identifying stakeholders
  • Obtaining project charter sign off
  • Work Breakdown Structures – determining project tasks
  • Network Diagram – critical path, scheduling and sequencing
  • Establishing project milestones
  • Risk assessment
  • Completing the project plan

Learning Outcomes:

  • While working in a team-based case study participants will:
  • Develop concise intended outcomes and deliverable statements
  • Identify three areas of measurement success criteria
  • Determine the in scope and out of scope activities
  • Assess the project risks and assumptions
  • Use a Network Diagram to determine critical path, schedule and sequence the project activities
  • Complete a project charter
  • Create a Work Breakdown Structure that identifies the project’s major tasks
  • Track project progress
  • Identify project sign-off benefits and rationale
