Event description
Join representatives from IBM , Dalhousie University, Cooke Aquaculture and Innovasea for a panel discussion on Precision Aquaculture.

About this Event

Modern aquaculture farms are becoming part of the Internet of Things (IoT) as they are characterized by hundreds of interconnected sensors which store and serve data, interact with other sensors and devices, and connect with a fog and cloud ecosystem.

The panelists will describe the implementation of the precision aquaculture concept in eastern Canada with partners from industry, technology and academia to provide data-driven insight and decision that promotes ecologically sustainable aquaculture. Discussion will touch on challenges related to connectivity, interoperability, and standardization and gaining insight into the farm environment to optimize fish health, economic return, and reduce risk to the environment.

Join us in welcoming:

Jon Grant, Department of Oceanography, Dalhousie University

Andrew Swanson, VP Research and Development, Cooke Aquaculture
