About this event

If you are a recent UHN living organ donor, or going through the living donation assessment process now, and have questions about reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses, this interactive webinar may be helpful.

We will provide an overview of PRELOD (Program for Reimbursing Expenses of Living Organ Donors) administered by the Trillium Gift of Life Network, along with answers to common questions and useful tips and guidance on how to complete the PRELOD Application Form.

Information on other financial supports, including similar programs for UHN living donors to residents of other provinces will also be provided.

This webinar takes place on the third Tuesday of every month. It is scheduled over the lunch hour in order to accommodate living donors who are back at work, or for whom travel to downtown Toronto is inconvenient.

Pre-registration is required. Please Select a Date and Register to reserve your space. A follow-up email containing webinar login/call-in details will be sent to all registrants.

For those in need of a kidney or liver transplant, living organ donation may offer a shorter pathway to better health - providing faster access to transplant and a quicker recovery. But there are not enough living donors to meet the need.

The Centre for Living Organ Donation was created by UHN Transplant (now the Ajmera Transplant Centre) in 2018 to improve access to living organ donation for people who need a life-saving kidney or liver transplant and those who want to give a transformative gift of life.

We raise awareness, provide support, promote research and offer hope to thousands of people who are waiting for a kidney or liver transplant - and everyone who wants to be part of their future.

We are located at Toronto General Hospital, a member of the University Health Network (UHN), also home to Toronto Western Hospital, the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, and The Michener Institute of Education at UHN. Toronto General Hospital has been at the top of Canada's Top 40 Research Hospitals list since 2011, and in 2020, was named one the world's Top 10 Hospitals by Newsweek magazine.

The Ajmera Transplant Centre is the largest organ transplant program in North America. We also partner with SickKids on the largest paediatric living donor transplant program in Canada.

The Centre for Living Organ Donation is funded by the UHN Foundation. Thank you to our generous donors for supporting our work.
