PrEP Regulatory Pathway and Steps for Equitable Access

The PrEP Regulatory Pathway and Steps for Equitable Access
Canadians who are interested in starting PrEP have been stymied by the length of the regulatory process and the cost of Truvada as PrEP. CTAC’s Policy Researcher Jack Mohr will be discussing two of our most recent resources that help unpack the regulatory process and outline what steps need to be taken to expand PrEP access in Canada. “Following the Regulatory Pathway for Truvada as PrEP” provides background on what steps Truvada as PrEP has taken to date and what steps remains before it becomes more widely available through public drug plans. The presentation will then review “Consensus to Action: Next Steps for Equitable Access to PrEP in Canada”, which builds on the principles of the Canadian Consensus Statement on HIV by proposing specific policy changes that would allow for more Canadians to access PrEP.
