Description

(Event photo: detail from The Three Cauldrons card of The Avalonian Oracle deck)

I am so excited to share that Jhenah Telyndru, founder of the Sisterhood of Avalon, author of "Avalon Within: A Sacred Journey of Myth, Mystery, and Inner Wisdom", editor of and contributor to "Flower Face: A Devotional Anthology in Honor of Blodeuwedd", and creator of "The Avalonian Oracle: Spiritual Wisdom from the Holy Isle" will be at The Hive and Grove on July 19 for a fabulous Author Event.

PRESENTATION (6:30 - 8:00): Fire in the Head: Igniting the Spark of Awen

The Bards and Druids of the ancient Celts sought the blessings of the Awen, or Divine Inspiration, to illuminate their art, and expand their spiritual sight in service to the Gods and their people. In reclaiming these paths to the Awen today, we look to ancient tools and modern techniques to activate this transformational energy in our lives. This workshop will discuss the lore and symbolism of the Awen, and will present several techniques which lay a foundation for the seeker to directly tap into the Source of Awen and obtain firsthand experience of its soul-changing power.

Cost: $20 + hst
* Please note that pre-registrations are highly recommended as space is limited. There is a special cost of $10 + hst for Sisters of Avalon. Email hiveandgrove@gmail.com to confirm your spot.

BOOK AND ORACLE DECK SIGNING (8:00 - 9:00)

Join us post-presentation for snacks and tea, and have Jhenah sign your books and oracle deck. If you already have copies, wonderful. If not, all will be available in The Hive and Grove shop, including "Flower Face: A Devotional Anthology in Honor of Blodeuwedd".

ABOUT JHENAH TELYNDRU:

Jhenah Telyndru has always felt called to dance with joy in that liminal space which straddles the realms of history and myth, of individuality and collectivity, of the seen and the unseen. A creative mystic who loves science and values fact, Jhenah embraces the conscious co-creation of the future, while immersing herself in an impassioned study of the past. The path between, she believes, is where the mysteries are revealed and where true magic happens.

Jhenah holds an MA in Celtic Studies from the University of Wales, Trinity St. David, as well as a BA in archaeology. She is the founder of the Sisterhood of Avalon and serves as Academic Dean and lead instructor of the Avalonian Thealogical Seminary. Jhenah teaches four day retreat experiences around North America and the UK, and facilitates pilgrimages to sacred sites in the British Isles and Ireland through Mythic Seeker Tours. She is a frequent presenter and guest speaker at academic conferences, religious symposia, Women’s Spirituality gatherings, and Pagan festivals. A priestess in the Avalonian Tradition, Jhenah has been dedicated to the work of Avalon for over 25 years, and has been active in the Goddess Spirituality movement since 1986.

She is the author of Avalon Within: A Sacred Journey of Myth, Mystery, and Inner Wisdom (Llewellyn, 2010), a book used by women’s groups and solitary practitioners world-wide. Her spoken word album Journeys to Avalon: Immrama to the Holy Isle is a perfect companion to Avalon Within and is a deepening tool for anyone who is called to Ynys Afallon.

Jhenah is the creator of a unique system of trance journey postures keyed into the alchemical landscape energies of ancient Avalon; this tool for inner pilgrimage can be experienced on the beautiful instructional DVD Trancing the Inner Landscape: Avalonian Landscape Postures. Along with illustrator Emily Brunner, her most recent offering is The Avalonian Oracle: Spiritual Wisdom from the Holy Isle book and deck from Schiffer Publishing (2016).

Jhenah is a contributing author to several anthologies including Flower Face: A Devotional Anthology In Honor of Blodeuwedd, The Goddess In America, Naming the Goddess, The Pagan Leadership Anthology, The Scribing Ibis, Which Witch is Which? A Concise Guide to Wiccan and Neo-Pagan Paths and Traditions, and several annual anthologies published by Llewellyn. Jhenah’s writing has been featured in periodicals including Sage Woman, Witches and Pagans, PanGaia, The Beltane Papers, Circle Magazine, and The Tor Stone.

In addition to her formal studies, Jhenah has delved into hermetic science, qabalistic philosophy, transpersonal astrology, archetypal tarot, and depth psychology in an ongoing quest to further her understanding of the Universe as it manifests within and without.
