About this event
Between September and December 2022, nine student designers worked directly with the technical and business leads of nine Canadian companies to explore and develop a new methodology for connecting design to Internet startups. Designers considered existing design gaps, perform user interface/usability studies, and develop design strategies for the companies in residence.
On December 8, each designer will give a 5-minute presentation summarizing the work they concluded with the participating Canadian startup companies.
Fall 2022 company-designer partnerships are:
Atrexis Systems Limited and Owen Xu, ConnectionPoint and Liyang Zha, FirstHx and Shriya Maru, GoChip Pet Technology Inc. and Siddhant Singh, Halitra and Priyanka Poulose, UpMeals and Jocelyn Qiao, NZ Technologies and Rutuja Haldankar, Rocketbrew and Joshua Louie, Virtuo and Alex Dabecki.
This project is generously supported by the National Research Council of Canada’s Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) Fall 2022 – Spring 2024.
About Design for Startups
Design for Startups is a unique program in which student designers join early-stage company teams to work on a specific design problem.
Through this initiative, we have developed and tested a new model for connecting the art and design university with early-to-mid stage companies through accelerators and VC-backed portfolios.
