Description

The President’s Retreat is a free annual event hosted by the President’s Office to bring together a select community of teaching and learning award winners and senior academic leaders to explore the theme of "Cultivating Positive Classroom Environments".


Date:
Friday August 30th
Time: 9:00am-3:30pm
Location: Vineland Estates, Vineland, ON

Coach Bus transportation from McMaster University is available on the following schedule:

Departs McMaster at 8:00 am (arrival at Vineland 8:45 am)

Departs Vineland Estates at 3:30 (arrival at McMaster at 4:15 pm)

You can reserve your seat on the Coach Bus as part of the registration process.


Participants attending the retreat will be invited to reflect on the following questions:

  • How do you cultivate positive learning environments and student experiences, keeping in mind the complex needs and contemporary challenges that attend diverse student populations at McMaster?
  • How can we as a community better assist faculty, staff and students given these needs and challenges?

You will participate in a day of discussion that will examine how educators are designing supportive spaces and experiences for students through a variety of innovative approaches.

Individuals will share strengths, achievements, and successes that have led the way to creating positive teaching and learning environments.
