Sprains/Strains are the most common workplace injury in Nova Scotia – on average, more than 60 percent of claims that require time off of work is caused by Sprains/Strains. Sprains/Strains are a key injury concern in Fish Processing.

The good news is these injuries are preventable. With knowledge, commitment and a systematic approach, you can help eliminate or reduce the risk of your employees getting injured on the job.

This Sprains/Strains Prevention workshop will give you an opportunity to learn about and apply a systematic approach to addressing Sprains/Strains, including:

  • General ergonomics principles;

  • Sprains/Strains awareness;

  • Identifying Sprains/Strains risks in your workplace;

  • Evaluating risks in the workplace; and

  • Implementing controls in the workplace to prevent ergonomics risks

  • Key Performance Indicators.
