About this event

Whose history is represented in your local museum and archive?

Whose stories are considered important, valuable, and worth preserving for future generations?

To honour and celebrate 2SLGBTQIA+ History month, come to Vernon Museum & Archives (MAV) for an exhibit of 2SLGBTQIA+ items of cultural significance and a community discussion about the representation of queer history in the Okanagan. Join Donna Langille, the Community Engagement Librarian at UBC’s Okanagan Campus, and special guests to discuss how the lived experiences of the historically underrepresented 2SLGBTQIA+ community can have more Pride in Place in local museums, archives and other cultural institutions.
