This program has been accredited for up to 5.0 MainPro M1 CME credits.
Facilitators:
Dr. Vanita Lokanathan - MD, Family Physician at the Peterborough Clinic Family Health Team, clinical lead providing trans care across Durham and South-East Ontario
Jordan Zaitzow - MSW, Trans Health Connection Coordinator, experienced workshop facilitator and trans health educator
We will be sharing information on:
- Providing holistic, community-based primary care services to trans patients
- Initiating hormone therapy for trans patients, including specifics on pre-hormone supports, medication doses, and monitoring
- Disease prevention / screening guidelines for trans and gender-diverse patients
- Reviewing new provincial trans health protocols: shifting the lens on trans care, and integration into "sensible practice" and informed consent
- Available community resources and when / who to refer to for help in managing trans patients' care
- Building a locally-relevant, integrated health system for gender diverse communities
