Join us to learn about food literacy activities perfect for Northern BC classrooms during the winter!
In this Pro-D session, we will explore how to connect food literacy to the BC curriculum through hands-on lesson plans that are adaptable, complete with lesson extensions and content resources for both indoor and outdoor classrooms throughout the winter.
About the Hosts
This Pro-D session is being held by Farm to School BC Community Animators, Margo Peill and Roanne Whitticase
Roanne Whitticase - Roanne is the Farm to School BC Community Animator for the North Central region representing Prince George and the surrounding area which includes schools districts 28, 57, 91.
Roanne, farmer and local food system enthusiast, lives, works and grows on the traditional territory of the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation, in Prince George, BC. Having studied in health sciences, Roanne shifted from clinical health to focus on the socioeconomic determinants of health, dedicating herself to food security and local food initiatives.
Margo Peill - Margo is the Farm to School BC Community Animator for the Northwest region serving communities from Terrace to Houston which includes schools districts 52, 54, 82.
