Learn more about Project SEARCH Toronto, a unique transition to work program for students with disabilities.

About this Event

Project SEARCH Toronto is a unique transition to work program for students with disabilities in their final year of high school. Students participate in classroom workplace life skills education and complete three cooperative learning placements at UHN Toronto Rehab and Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. Each student’s support team includes their family, a qualified teacher, job coaches, worksite supervisors and co-workers, and an employment support counsellor.

Eligible students are:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Eligible to enroll in high school (TDSB or TCDSB) for the 2021/22 school year
  • Diagnosed with an intellectual or developmental disability
  • Motivated to work in healthcare support roles after finishing high school (full-time or part-time 20 hours a week or more)
  • Able to communicate in a workplace setting
