Protest Art Session 1-3: Youth Action and Arts Space (6-9 Year Olds)
Sat, 29 April 2017, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM EDT
This three week series will use different mediums to explore the power of protest art and collective voice by having fun with symbols that unite people, making posters with messages that are important to the youth, exploring ideas for installation art to raise awareness and/or using music & song to convey a message.
The 519’s Youth Action and Arts Space offers fun, friends and cool opportunities for a few hours two Saturdays per month, excepting January, September, July and August.
6 - 9 years old: Every first & third Saturday of the month, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
10 - 15 years old: Every first & third Saturday of the month, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The 519 is collaborating with community-based arts educators to facilitate a program of arts-based activities with queer, trans, and gender independent kids and the kids of queer and trans families.
The goal is to offer a variety of arts-based programming for young people between the ages of 6-15 in a safe and affirming environment that is free and accessible to the community.
