Feb. 27, 2023 at 1- 4:30pm Part 1:

Providing Affirming Mental Health Services for Transgender People: Part 1

This session will include an introduction to working with transgender and gender non-conforming clients in the mental health sector. This session covers key terminology and concepts about how to make one’s practice an affirming space for transgender people. Key statistics about mental health and the importance of affirming services will be covered in this session.

Feb. 28, 2023 at 1- 4:30pm Part 2:

Providing Affirming Mental Health Services for Transgender People: Part 2

This session will cover how to discuss gender identity and gender expression with clients. This session will cover how to explore transition options with clients and the ways to support a person through social and medical transition. Included in this session is how to discuss informed consent, how to advocate for transgender clients, and working through gender dysphoria. Key statistics on mental health and transition will be covered in this session.

Dates: February 27th and 28th, 2023

Time: 1- 4:30pm

Location: Virtual

Session Fee: $75 per session and $125 for both sessions.

About Your Instructor:

Vincent Bolt MSW, RSW Psychotherapist

Vincent Bolt uses he/him pronouns. He is a registered social worker and he is completing his MSW. He has a Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from Laurentian University and has experience working with Indigenous populations. He has years of experience working with transgender and non-binary people, as well as their families and loved ones. Vincent is experienced working in areas including gender identity and sexual orientation. He has training in CBT, DBT, compassion focused therapy, and EMDR. He is available for daytime and evening appointments in person, or virtually. Vincent works with teens and youth, as well as adults. He can provide services in both English and French.
