Join us at the first PAS - Public Accountability Symposium - at Mount Allison University on October 29th, 2016 - as we explore the meaning of public accountability with some of Canada's most noted experts on that misunderstood word. The symposium will begin at 11:00 am in Tweedie Hall, in the Wallace McCain Student Centre, with "Trust in the Private and Public Sectors: Meaning and Mechanisms." This will be delivered by Dr. Chris MacDonald, who teaches ethics and critical thinking at Ryerson University's Ted Rogers School of Management. Dr. MacDonald is also author of the highly respected blog called simply, The Business Ethics Blog.
This talk will be followed by a luncheon with the Auditor General of Canada, Michael Ferguson, as the keynote speaker. Then, we will move on to an interactive panel discussion with representatives drawn from the academy, the business world, the legal and accounting professions, and the government/not-for-profit sectors. Jack Blackier of Cox Palmer will moderate the panel. Just before the afternoon closes, and we send you on your way, we would like to engage all participants at small group table discussions using a World Café format, so that all have an opportunity to consolidate their experiences.
